Miniature art on Russian lacquer boxes is one Russia's most precious legacies. The traditional lacquer box paintings are done from four primary art schools. They are Palekh, Kholui, Mstera, and Fedoskino.

Our authentic Russian lacquer boxes are handcrafted from a high quality papier-mache. They are then handpainted by skilled artists who must do most of their work with the aid of a strong magnifying lens. Most of the lacquer boxes are trimmed with gold or aluminum. Unless otherwise noted, the interiors of our Russian lacquer boxes are done in red lacquer. Each box is finished with many layers of clear lacquer.
