It takes 10 steps to open the main compartment of this limited edition Japanese himitsu-bako. Another 8 steps reveals the second smaller compartment.
The zougan marquetry on the lid of the box features a beautiful lake scene. The back of the box features a heron, also done using zougan marquetry. The sides of the box are covered in a yosegi pattern called aka-asa.
