Here's another one-of-a-kind creation by the Wood Butcher of Arkansas. As usual, the pictures just can't do justice to the beauty of this wood piece. Please be sure to click on the photos above to see enlargements.
Set includes the main storage piece. Hidden in the back of the main storage piece is a puzzle box which contains a smaller nested box. In the front of the main storage piece is a pull-out box that has 2 top compartment sections and a hidden drawer.
Larger piece approx. 6.45" x 3.65" x 2.5"
Sections in pull-out box: (2.2"x1.25"x.8") and (2.2"x.85"x1.5")
Hidden drawer in pull-out box: 1.5" x 1.15" x .35"
Hidden puzzle box approx. 2.7" x 2.25" x 1.8"
Interior of puzzle box approx. 1.6" x 1.25" x 1.25"
Smallest box approx. 1.6" x 1.15" x 1.15"
Interior of smallest box approx. 1" x .75" x .7"

A note from the artist:
"The most common roots of maple I use are from the Big Leaf variety. The roots themselves have more of what you'd call bark pockets and less voids then buckeyes when cut apart. They also contain more concentrations of highly figured grains and birdeyes than my other woods. The colors can range from white to a reddish brown, depending on how long the root ball has been in the ground before I get it."
