This attractive box has an intentional rustic finish. Each box has its own character. The finish is a not a high gloss and there WILL be random dents in the wood surface. It is still a very attractive box. The interior is nicely finished and is smooth with the base of the interior being lined.
DEFECTIVE LID - There is about a 1/8" gap between the box and lid even when the box is locked.
The Lock DOES Work on this box!
