"Leafy Ivy" Carved Walnut Wood Secret Box

A dense and delicate ivy covers the surface of this beautifully crafted box of India. The box is made from Kashmiri walnut wood. This box seems impossible to open ...that is, until you know about the secret panel in front. Inside the box has a removable dividing panel and is lined in velvet.

Before beginning work on the walnut wood, the artisan first dries it for 2-3 years. Artificial coloring is never used. Each piece is rubbed with agate stone before being completed with a wax polish.
